Boston Heart Disease Consultation

A Heart Health Education & Patient Advocacy Organization

Curing Heart Disease, LLC is an evidence-based education and patient advocacy organization dedicated to helping individuals better understand cardiovascular health. We provide educational coaching and advocacy support designed to complement — not replace — licensed medical care. Our mission is to make state-of-the-art scientific information accessible, understandable, and actionable so patients can engage in informed discussions with their healthcare providers.

The Program

Program Goals

Curing Heart Disease, LLC is a Massachusetts-based organization committed to translating the best available cardiovascular science into clear, practical information for the public.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide. Scientific research continues to evolve rapidly, yet many patients struggle to interpret conflicting or incomplete information about prevention, treatment, medications, procedures, lifestyle interventions, and risk assessment.

Our goal is to:

  • Present current, peer-reviewed cardiovascular science in understandable language
  • Clarify the role of lifestyle, medications, and risk-reduction strategies
  • Help individuals prepare informed questions for their physicians
  • Promote thoughtful, evidence-based decision-making

We do not diagnose, prescribe, or manage medical treatment. Instead, we serve as an educational resource and patient advocate, helping individuals better understand the scientific landscape surrounding heart disease.

Founder’s Perspective

Dr. Peter Megdal, Founder and Executive Director, created Curing Heart Disease, LLC after personally navigating complex cardiovascular treatment decisions, including undergoing a coronary stent procedure that he later questioned.

His experience underscored a critical issue: many patients lack access to clear, unbiased explanations of their options.

Through this organization, he seeks to ensure patients:

  • Understand risk and benefit in context
  • Recognize that medical decisions are individualized
  • Feel empowered to engage constructively with their healthcare teams
